Global leader for SMC composite manhole covers, gully gratings, handholes and FRP poles — engineered to EN124, AASHTO and AS3996 standards, exported to over 100 countries.
Hangzhou Ombra Trading Co., Ltd is a national high-tech enterprise specializing in the design, R&D, production and marketing of high-strength SMC composite manhole covers and chambers, gully gratings, handholes, pedestals, valve boxes and FRP poles — with a manufacturing heritage dating back to 1999.
SMC (Sheet Molding Compound) is a thermosetting composite — resin, glass-fibre reinforcement and fillers, compression-moulded under heat into a high-density, steel-like plate.
Density of 1.7–1.9 g/cm³, with an R&D lightweight variant reaching just 1.1 g/cm³.
Combines plastic-like molding flexibility with bending and tensile resistance far beyond conventional plastics.
A proprietary anti-shrinkage formulation holds shrinkage to 0.2% — ten times better than cast iron's 2%.
Exceptional resistance to aging, corrosion and microbial degradation extends field life significantly.
Anti-static, flame-retardant, high-voltage resistant, UV-stable and electromagnetically transparent formulations on request.
Unlike cast iron, SMC has no resale value as scrap — removing the financial incentive for theft entirely.
